"As a resident of the Charleston area, I’ve enjoyed the rich history and incredible programs at all of our local National Park sites — Forts Sumter and Moultrie, the Charles Pinckney National Historic Site, and the Charleston Light. They’re a vital part of our heritage, not just as Carolinians but as Americans. Supporting these parks’ programming was a natural fit for me. I hope to pass on a greater appreciation for the vision, strength, and sacrifices endured by the men and women who've gone before us, and I believe preservation of the assets is fundamental, but what I enjoy most is sharing why what took place at these sites is so important to all of us today."
