Through advocacy, education, and volunteer initiatives, the Friends of Charleston National Parks strive to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the local and cultural heritage. Their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the parks ensures that future generations can continue to enjoy and be inspired by the wonders that Charleston has to offer.

Preservation Mentorship Program

Preservation is an elevated priority of the Friends of Charleston National Parks. The Friends of Charleston National Parks’ inaugural Preservation Mentorship Program will involve local high schools, colleges, universities, preservation groups and volunteers to help train, mentor, and develop future park stewards. This unique program will be an opportunity for young students and emerging generations to explore preservation careers and take action to safeguard our local national treasures. The Friends will directly assist by helping to build partnerships with schools and preservation groups as well as promote the program locally and regionally.
